Frequently asked questions

What is a third-party SAG-AFTRA signatory?

A company signed to the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract that engages union performers for a production on behalf of a client that is not a signatory, acting as the employer of those performers.

Do I need a signatory to hire SAG-AFTRA actors for a commercial?

Yes. SAG-AFTRA requires a signatory to be attached to the project before auditions, casting and production.

Can a non-signatory ad agency work with a third-party signatory?

Generally yes, provided the third-party signatory performs the employer functions SAG-AFTRA requires. We will walk you through the current rules for your project.

What goes into a commercial talent cost estimate?

Session fees, overtime, use and residuals by media and market, holding fees, pension and health contributions and payroll costs.

Our streaming video is being recut as a TV spot abroad. What will talent cost?

Additional use often triggers new payments. Send us the original contracts and the new media plan and we will estimate it.

Do you handle radio and podcast ads?

Yes. Coordinet can act as your SAG-AFTRA signatory for audio-only commercials, including radio, podcast and streaming audio ads, as well as on-camera and voiceover spots.

Do you handle non-union talent?

Yes. Ask about payroll and business affairs for non-union performers too.
